Central Islip Fire District, Board of Fire Commissioners is responsible for the raising of funds, through taxation, that will allow the Board to supply the Central Islip Fire Department with the best possible apparatus, equipment and training. This permits the Department to protect the citizens of the communities of Central Islip and Islandia. There are five Commissioners that are elected by the citizens of the fire district. Each term is five years. One Commissioner is elected every year on a rotating basis. Each Board member has a financial responsibility to supply the best protection to the community for the least amount of tax dollars.
