C.I.F.D. FUND DRIVE
For more than a century now, the community of Central Islip and the Village of Islandia has been fortunate to have dedicated men and women available around the clock to respond to the call for help from our neighbors. Volunteer firefighters, then as now, are part of the diverse population of our community. We are trades people, educators, lawyers, police officers, career firefighters, rescue workers, business people, government workers and students just to name a few. We are your neighbors, the folk’s next store, across the street and across town. All of our members serve with pride knowing that we are making a difference when an emergency strikes. The Central Islip Fire Department responded to almost 1,000 calls for assistance in 2011. Among these calls were structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, carbon monoxide emergencies, hazardous materials spills, and many other emergencies this year. When you need us we respond with professionalism and skill acquired through numerous hours of mandated training requirements and exercises in learning the latest techniques in firefighting and rescue services. The Central Islip Fire Department conducts yearly Fire Prevention demonstrations in your schools. The Bureau of Fire Prevention provides important safety tips and information to keep you and your family safe. Our junior firefighter program provides young people an opportunity to learn firefighting skills while enhancing their self esteem and sense of teamwork. As we begin the 2021 Fund Drive we ask you to continue your generous support of our efforts as you have done in the past.
